Overview of Services for Individuals
You can choose from a variety of services including workshops, retreats, and individual career counseling and coaching. Centerpoint takes the “a la carte” approach to its offerings. Since each person comes in with varying amounts of information and knowledge about him/herself, we find that the combination of services that's just right varies from person to person.
There are several ways to determine what will be right for you:
- Attend a Free Orientation to visit Centerpoint, learn all about how the career process really works, meet one of our staff members and ask lots of questions to determine if our services fit what you need.
- Schedule a 30-minute Planning Session with a career counselor to evaluate and plan the best mix of services for your needs.
- Jump right in and attend the next LifeWork Renewal Workshop. In addition to being a foundation workshop and a prerequisite for many of our other multi-session classes, you learn a map to navigate change and transition. This is an extremely useful tool for getting unstuck and moving forward.
Workshops vs. Individual Career Counseling
Many key parts of the career change process happen powerfully in a group setting. However, some critical aspects can be worked with more effectively through individual counseling.
Some clients-- because of scheduling needs, learning style, or personal preference-- use individual counseling exclusively. For most people, we recommend a more cost effective mix: using one-on-one counseling for individual support during a transition in conjunction with, or as a follow-up to, our group programs.
The counseling setting provides a safe, highly focused environment for new awareness and change. An hour of individual counseling can often get right to the heart of an issue with which you're struggling.
If You Are Being 'Downsized'
Traditional outplacement services don't always provide the best assistance if you view a potential layoff as a major shift in life and career direction rather than a simple reemployment job search. Others in your situation have been able to arrange to use their outplacement funds for The Retreat, LifeWork Renewal Workshop, individual career counseling, or other workshops. We provide unique services to help you rediscover what is important to you and forge a new plan that better uses your passions and desires for life/work balance.
