Centerpoint's Principles of Service
Life-Giving Work. Centerpoint is founded on the conviction that people's work lives can be vital and fulfilling. We believe meaningful work is life-giving, not only to the individual, but also to the organization where he or she works, and to the broader community.
Vision. Successful career and life choices are within each client, then developed through a proactive process. We believe active choices begin with finding a personal, compelling vision for the future.
Understanding Change. Understanding the process of change and human development is fundamental to life/work planning. We assist our clients in understanding how their changes relate to a natural process, and how to work with this process.
Holistic Context. Successful life/work choices involve a holistic vision for the future that includes and balances all aspects of the client's life: work, relationships, family, personal growth, leisure, community and spirituality.
Coaching Role. We see our role as that of a coach or midwife. We trust and respect our client's natural talents, resources, and sense of direction. We provide focus and support to assist in clarifying their vision, mobilizing their energy, and developing new skills for fulfilling their visions.
Community. We find that human change and renewal happen best within the circle of community. Connectedness provides support, feedback, and shared experiences/resources.
Nature. The natural environment gives perspective in a way that nothing else can. We use the outdoors whenever possible to facilitate life/work reflection and clarification.
Humanistic Organizations. We encourage businesses to develop humanistic work environments for their employees so that work can be meaningful, productive, and fulfilling.
Diversity. We honor, respect, and learn from the differences of each individual we encounter and seek common ground for our shared human experiences.
Creative Attitude. We are a creative organization. We support other career professionals and actively work to strengthen and advance the profession. |
