Career Process Map

What stage of the career process are you in?

The career process happens in stages. Each step forms a foundation for the next to build on. In other words, it doesn't make sense to job hunt until you're clear about what type of job you want. The stage you're at on the Career Process Map will determine which Centerpoint workshops and services will be the most help and interest to you.

How does the Career Process Map go together with the Life/Career Self-Test?

Taking the Self-Test will give you an idea of where you are in the career process. You may want to take the Life / Career Self-Test first -- if you haven't already -- and then come back to the Map. Your score on the Life/Career Self-Test will direct you to the area of the Map that should describe where you are in the process. From there, you can explore the workshops and services that are targeted to that stage.

What if you don't want to take the Life/Career Self-Test?

You can use just the Career Process Map to help identify the workshops and services that would fit you best. Here's what to do:

  • Focus on one area of your life that's in transition.
  • Look over the Career Process Map and decide which description or descriptions best fit with the way you are currently feeling about that part of your life.
  • When you've found an area on the Career Process Map that describes you, click on the name of that stage to go to suggested workshops that may be helpful for you.
